Food & Beverages

Meet Regine and Manuel – the amazing catering leaders that will offer their creations during the 2025 Tribe Gathering, Norway.

Find them at Kafé Oransjeriet as part of Jivamukti Yoga Stavanger and at the Tribe event location Fiskepiren.

Here they share their thoughts on veganism, vegan cuisine and more.

Meet Regine

Based in Berlin, Regine is a passionate catering leader, 800-hour certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher, and award-winning author. She champions veganism, sustainability, and mindful food consumption—placing a strong emphasis on reducing food waste and cooking with seasonal, regional ingredients.

Her two cookbooks, Vegan Rock You (honored with the Silver Medal by the German Gastronomic Academy) and Plant Power Kitchen, go far beyond just recipes. Each book offers simple, kid-friendly dishes and celebrates an appreciative, conscious approach to food.

Since completing her Jivamukti Yoga teacher training in 2019 under her mentor Martyna Febre, Regine has been deeply committed to living and working by the principle of Ahimsa—non-violence in thought, word, and action. This philosophy beautifully unites her culinary and yogic practices into a holistic lifestyle.

Tribe Gathering 2025:

Q: “What nourishes you—and how do you nourish others?”

This question guides my work as a catering leader and Jivamukti yoga teacher. I’m thrilled to be part of the Tribe Gathering 2025 in Norway—for the shared cooking, the laughter, and the mindful experience of community.

I plan to bring nourishing, fresh, and vibrant plant-based cuisine to our tribe—no compromises. Everything is made from scratch with love: no convenience products, only fresh, organic ingredients. You can look forward to colorful burritos, warming dal, a creamy vegan Caesar salad, and our legendary lasagna.

My aim is not just to fill bellies but to truly nourish body, mind, and heart. I hope to inspire the tribe community through simple, honest cooking—encouraging mindful eating, gratitude, and deeper connection with nature and one another.

In one word, tribe means: Connection.

Meet Manuel

Manuel is passionate about the hospitality industry and has worked on four continents in everything from a staff canteen to a Michelin-starred restaurant.

He is originally from Berlin and is now based in Stavanger where he leads an international team at Kafé Oransjeriet.

If you ask him who the biggest inspiration and motivation in his life is, he will most likely start telling you a very vivid and heart-warming story about his mom or his grandfather.

Q: What about processed vegan foods—how do we navigate that in a healthy way?

I think the moment a specific ingredient gets processed or even ultra-processed, it looses its appeal to me as the nutrional value gets lost. Navigating something in a healthy way almost sounds like trying to misrepresent the facts; potato chips from the shelf are junk no matter how you try to spin it. I think the real focus when it comes to vegan food should be on the ethical and nutrional side AKA as unprocessed as possible.

Q: How can we help people explore veganism or plant-based eating in a kind, inclusive, and non-judgmental way?

It is an educational journey, in my opinion. Norway is a country with a rich history in the fishing industry so ultimately many people expect to get fish in some way, shape or form on their plate because it ‘tastes good’ and maybe even has a sentimental value (memories from the childhood, etc.).

For us, we truly have to avoid certain terminology like ‘vegan’ and focus on ‘plant-based’ to only give one example as it has a less ‘militant’ ring to it.

Samples are always a good way of showing people how tasty the food can be. Having conversations that do not have this aforementioned ‘militant’ ring to them are another:

‘There is no meat on your menu?’

‘We do not serve meat but why not give our seitan a try? Chances are you may not notice the difference while you eat it.’

Q: Any advice for those who are just beginning their plant-based journey and feel overwhelmed?

  •   Browse through the How not To Die cookbook; lots of super simple recipes and a little bit of background information about the nutrients that are needed.
  •   Visit nutritionfacts.org Superb website with lots of helpful information
  •   suggest social media forums dedicated to vegan eating and living; people there tend to be VERY helpful, especially towards those who are new.

Q: Tribe in a word
